An Audio Interview with D-Pace’s CEO Richard McElroy
It was a great deal of fun to travel to Nusano’s recent Radioisotope Production Facility ribbon cutting event in Salt Lake City on August 21, 2025 (https://nusano.com/nusano-cuts-ribbon-on-state-of-the-art-radioisotope-production-facility/) with D-Pace’s new CEO, Richard McElroy. We had plenty of time to connect, and to learn more about our respective careers and experiences. I asked Richard if he would grant an interview regarding his first months at D-Pace, and he was delighted to do so.

Question 1 (00:00): When did you start, and how is it going so far?
I started June 1st, so I am very early on in my tenure here …

I actually come from an enterprise software background, and I was a co-founder of a small company ….
Question 3 (04:14): Today it is August 21st, and we are at a Ribbon cutting event here at Nusano in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I was just wondering if you could tell me what that experience was like for you?
Absolutely! I preface this one by saying, obviously, I am drinking out of a fire house right now, in terms of the technology jargon …
Question 4 (07:47): Where did you do your university training, and where did you go to high school?
I was born in Montreal …
Question 5 (09:30): I have one last question I am wondering if from your childhood, whoever you were, is there something about who you were then that is still with you now?
We have a lot of similarities … I actually grew up …
Question 6 (10:58): Did you have a project that you did do by yourself when you were little?
I can’t believe you are asking me this question, because I remember it identically …
It was very interesting to travel together with Richard, which gave plenty of time to discuss particle accelerators, entrepreneurship and many other things besides.
